It says nothing about whether they employ their own installation teams, how recently they have worked on your specific technology, or whether they are financially stable enough to honour a warranty in five years. Intelligent Buyers checks all of that, independently, before any company joins the panel. That is what the 20% means.

China removed its 9% VAT export rebate on solar panels on 1 April 2026. That cost is working through the supply chain now. The current average of £8,191 is likely the low point, not the floor.

The forecast rise in household energy bills from 1 July 2026.
Energy bills fell in April, but that is forecast to reverse sharply in July. Cornwall Insight projects the Ofgem cap rising from £1,641 to £1,837 per year. Bills are already 35% above pre-crisis levels.
